Elizabeth Holmes, the founder of Theranos, has given birth to her second child as her 11-year stretch in prison looms large, according to celebrity gossip and rumors today.
The convicted fraudster’s defense team cited that Holmes is a mother of two young children as a reason why she should remain out of prison while she appeals her fraud conviction. The Stanford University dropout was found guilty of defrauding the company’s investors of over $144m. Holmes’ sentencing is due to begin on 27 April, and Judge Edward Davila has recommended that she serve her sentence at Federal Prison Camp in Texas, which is more conducive to family visits.
